Are you a creative engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges from first principles? A company specialising in medical devices and safety-critical consumer products is seeking a talented principal electronics engineer to lead groundbreaking product development.

This role will see the successful candidate developing electronics and embedded software for diverse electronics products, integrating hardware and software systems, and progressing to lead dynamic project teams. The position offers the opportunity to work throughout the complete product lifecycle, from initial concept generation through to manufacturing, whilst building client relationships and securing commercial contracts. Working primarily in regulated markets, particularly medical devices and surgical solutions, the successful candidate will tackle challenges that require returning to theoretical first principles and devising innovative solutions.

Requirements:

* Extensive commercial experience designing, prototyping and testing electronic circuits/systems and writing embedded software in C / C++.

* Practical hands-on electronics skills including soldering, PCB modification, wiring and use of test equipment.

* Project planning, resourcing and leadership capabilities.

* Strong academic background with a first or 2:1 degree in engineering from a leading university (UK top 20 or equivalent) with excellent A-level results. Further post-graduate education would be well received and recognised.

* Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK as company sponsorship is not available.
