This role is part of WSP’s global fire engineering team, offering opportunities to work on diverse projects with a focus on ensuring fire safety in architectural design.
Your New Role, What’s Involved
As a Principal Fire Engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once—from a university in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, with many international projects. The goal is to enable innovative architectural design without compromising fire safety.
You’ll run through design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics, Structures), present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and help inform the design team about changes to increase building safety. You’ll be guided through a variation of software packages and fire standards, as well as team briefings and client updates from the start. We support professional registration via IFE and other professional bodies.

What We’D Love To Hear From You If You Have
You will have a BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. Must have experience within the fire engineering consulting industry. This role can be based from any of our UK major offices.
