Wood is recruiting for a Principal Flow Assurance Engineer to join its Production Optimisation team within the Digital Consulting business unit. This position offers hybrid work flexibility and is open to applicants from across the UK, ideally those who can easily commute to our Aberdeen, Reading or Staines office.

The Role

This role is to manage key projects, develop technical proficiency within the company, assist in new opportunities and interface with key clients. You will have a solid technical background and be comfortable being a primary point of contact with senior clients and specialists.

You will primarily manage complete Flow Assurance projects and studies, supervising a team of engineers to deliver the required deliverables. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and management experience.

To support continued growth within the Production Optimisation team in the UK, we are searching for a driven, solution-oriented and creative Principal Flow Assurance Engineer with technical knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and transport phenomena, and people leadership skills to play a leading role in both the traditional oil and gas and the energy transition markets.

As a Principal Engineer, you will manage large Flow Assurance projects ranging from conceptual to detailed engineering and operations support. You will have the opportunity to be involved in business development activities and work as part of a global team.

• Previous experience in flow assurance or process disciplines in Oil and Gas.
• Recognized qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (Master’s in Chemical or Petroleum engineering preferred)
  (Alternatively extensive suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence)
• Considerable previous flow assurance and process experience in the Oil and Gas industry with an excellent technical background
• A proven track record in management of process and flow assurance projects and studies
• Proven experience in coaching the junior flow assurance and process engineers
• Extensive experience with major flow assurance software packages such as OLGA, Pipesim, Multi flash, Leda Flow
• Working knowledge / awareness of process engineering, and simulation using Hysys and/or Unisim
• Good knowledge of HAZOP, process safety and risk assessment
• Ability to independently establish effective working relations with client representatives. Candidate should be able to understand customer needs, advise on technical solutions and be able to build strong relations.
