Principal Geotechnical Engineer\n\nBirmingham\n\n37.5 per week\n\nPermanent - £55k-£65k dependant on experience\n\nOverview:\nAn exciting opportunity for an experienced geotechnical engineer to take a leading role in delivering innovative and high-quality design solutions. You'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and costing through to detailed design and verification of retaining solutions. \n\nResponsibilities:\n * Interpret ground investigation data and drawings to produce design reports.\n * Use modelling software to validate designs.\n * Work with the technical team to develop solutions and CAD details.\n * Assess commercial impacts of designs.\n * Provide geotechnical advice to teams and clients.\n * Liaise with clients and coordinate site testing.\n * Carry out site visits to confirm ground models and quality standards.\n * Support and train junior engineers.\n\nKey Skills & Experience:\n * Degree in Geology or Civil Engineering, plus MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.\n * Chartered or near chartership.\n * 5+ years' experience in geotechnical or civil engineering.\n * Skilled in Geo5 and AutoCAD.\n * Strong understanding of ground investigation, geotechnical properties, and report writing.\n * Knowledge of Eurocode/British Standards for retaining wall design.\n * Strong analytical and communication skills.\n\nIf you are an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a passion for design and a drive to deliver high-quality solutions.
