Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Instrument Engineer on a contract basis, working outside IR35 with hybrid working 3 days per week in our Aberdeen or Glasgow office. This role offers opportunities on large standalone projects and on/offshore modification scopes with some of the largest global operators in the energy industry, providing long-term career prospects.
Responsibilities
- Provide instrument engineering support to the client contract as required.
- Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client, and project standards.
- Originate and check instrument engineering deliverables within budget and schedule.
- Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks, legislation changes, and industry technology developments, and promote this knowledge to direct reports.
- Manage discipline CTRs, contribute to estimates, proposals, plans, and progress reports.
- Develop calculation packages as required.
- Perform site or client office visits if necessary.
- Present and describe engineering solutions and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organise, plan, and coordinate work and resources for specific projects.
- Support quality and technical assurance activities as required.
Qualifications
MSc, MEng, or equivalent professional qualification; or BSc, BEng, or equivalent with considerable relevant experience; or HNC / HND or equivalent with relevant extensive experience.
