This role is within our Resilience Global Business Area, focused on protecting water resources and the environment while powering future generations.RolePrincipal Mechanical Design Engineer (Water & Wastewater) — You\'ll lead multidisciplinary delivery teams on water and wastewater capital projects, applying technical expertise to clients regionally and across the UK. ResponsibilitiesSelf-start and work independently or within a team on production, checking, review, or approval of complex mechanical design deliverables.Lead design and advisory services for new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets.Ensure safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.Deliver technically for multi-disciplinary projects in a Design Lead capacity using latest digital design processes and resources.Identify and develop innovative, optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers.Lead and coordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA).Establish and grow relationships with clients and delivery partners on technical, commercial and progress matters.Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards and objectives.Mentor and supervise colleagues\' professional development; line management and performance development for assigned staff.Capture key project and technical knowledge, including innovations; promote MEICA team capability and achievements.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM).Significant experience delivering process plant systems on complex engineering projects, preferably in water and wastewater.Experience of design and construct projects using digital design platforms.Demonstrated team leadership with collaborative behaviours.Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionOtherIndustriesProfessional Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
