If so this could be the role for you. \n\nMy client, a very reputable Built and Environmental Consultancy and as the demand for the expertise continues to grow, they now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a significantly experienced and talented MEP Engineering Team based at their office in Manchester. \n\nClient lists include Education, commercial, retail, industrial, leisure and many more.
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be exposed to many sectors and many cultures. Working as part of a team, you will be expected to manage your own project work, undertake detailed design to the required standards and to deliver excellent levels of client service.\n\nWhat you need to do to be effective in this role\n\nTo represent the client in leading mechanical design and in addition (for smaller projects) managing electrical engineers and specialists\nWorking as the lead engineer in a design team being responsible for mechanical and public health building services design\nSupervising and monitoring the work of others in this function\nAs a project lead, actively engage with Clients to ensure project stakeholder requirements are successfully incorporated as well as continue to develop strong Client relationships\nCompleting mechanical QA project reviews to ensure technical requirements align with industry regulations and recommendations as well the client brief\nAdvising clients on energy use and conservation for a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and carbon emissions associated with our designs\nIdeally, using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project\nUndertaking mechanical design calculations - ideally including the use of mechanical engineering software such as Hevacomp and IES\nEnsuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements\nProvide ongoing mentoring and management of junior engineers and apprenticesThe skills and experience you need to have for this role\n\nSignificant experience and technical knowledge within a mechanical and public health building services design role from either a consultant or contractor background\nHaving an accredited relevant degree or higher educational qualification in an applicable discipline (HNC/HND)\nTo have achieved CEng status\nExcellent communication skills and willing to work as part of a close-knit team towards a shared goal\nAttention to detail and a strong desire to deliver high standards of client careFor more information please get in touch with (url removed) or call (phone number removed)
