Principal .NET Engineer - Finance Sector Our client, a leader in the finance sector, is seeking a Principal/Senior .NET Engineer to step up and to take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions while guiding the engineering team towards project success. This role blends hands-on technical delivery with mentoring, cloud infrastructure management, and a strong emphasis on code quality. Role Responsibilities Mentor engineers, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Design, develop, and maintain software with a focus on seamless integration and performance. Collaborate with BAs and PMs to gather and refine requirements. Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK with Python. Drive code quality through automated testing, with a focus on unit testing. Oversee CI/CD pipeline implementation and management. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability. Enforce security best practices for cloud infrastructure and applications. Contribute to agile ceremonies and foster an agile mindset. Maintain clear documentation for code, processes, and configurations. Essential Experience / Skills Proven Senior .NET Engineer experience, ideally in finance. Strong AWS knowledge and hands-on IaC experience (AWS CDK in Python). Familiarity with Entity Framework or other CRMs. Understanding of contract-first design approaches. Python scripting or testing experience. Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and unit testing principles. Agile environment experience with a strong agile mindset. Attention to detail and resilience under pressure. Strong problem-solving and leadership skills. Commitment to code quality and development best practices. Desirable Strong back-end development expertise in .NET. Knowledge of microservices in cloud environments. Database design experience (SQL/NoSQL). Docker competency and familiarity with Kubernetes. Proficiency with Git, JIRA, and CI/CD tooling. Clear, concise documentation skills. Strong teamwork and independent work capability.
