Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Team, we are looking to enhance our technical capabilities and are seeking an experienced Safety Case Expert to join our team. This role offers the chance to participate in multi-disciplinary projects at various stages of the lifecycle, from client consultancy to comprehensive turn-key solutions. You will have the vision, passion and track record required to support us with our continued growth of our nuclear offering. This role is ideal for an experienced safety case expert, offering you the chance to work on a variety of high-profile, short and long-term projects within the sector, and being involved and overseeing the full project cycle end-to-end.

Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management: Lead and develop the nuclear safety case team, provide leadership and robust management, and act as the first point of contact with clients, partners and contractors. Oversee key projects from concept to delivery including design, procurement, subcontract, factory acceptance, installation, site acceptance and commissioning. Support management across the nuclear portfolio in AECOM (Civil and Defence) and develop the strategy for growing the nuclear safety case capability. Manage resource strategies, recruitment plans and maintaining resource competence (SQEP). Deputise for the Nuclear Safety Case Discipline Lead as required.
- Technical Delivery: Act as a subject matter expert for winning work and supporting the bidding process for nuclear safety. Take responsibility for strategic safety case delivery on projects. Build and maintain relationships with clients to deliver a right-first-time approach for technical delivery. Advise AECOM leadership and clients on regulatory compliance, standards and guidance. Support interactions with regulators and safety committees.
- Development and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and coach the nuclear safety case team. Deliver nuclear safety training to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to multidisciplinary knowledge sharing initiatives. Stay informed of new developments and requirements to recommend changes in approach and best practice.
Qualifications
- Experience: Extensive experience in developing nuclear safety cases in the nuclear sector.
- Leadership: Exceptional leadership with the ability to provide strategic advice and influence other engineers in defining, implementing, and completing engineering work packages.
- Project Delivery: A track record of successful project delivery, including overseeing the full project cycle end-to-end.
- Communication: Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations and conduct peer reviews of technical documents.
You will also be self-motivated with anAbility to work autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven team environment.
Desired qualifications
- MEng/BEng in a Science or Engineering subject (or equivalent)
- Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline (or working towards)
Security Clearance
