About The Role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Cardiff office and work as part of the largest independent consulting engineering firm of its kind. You will join a talented, dynamic, and diverse team of designers, engineers, and technical specialists with a unique working culture. Our team is large enough to work on large national and international schemes yet agile enough to allow significant talent growth and career progression.

As a Principal or Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities. A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members.

The Cardiff office is located in a city with a rich cultural heritage and ambitions for growth and carbon neutrality in the next decade. You will be part of a team that collaborates across disciplines and scales to address large projects while providing opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
• Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
• Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders; attend project meetings and disseminate the brief within the project team. This is a client-facing role.
• Work with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
• Mentor and support our next generation professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

About You

• Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
• Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
• Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors/architects in a design-oriented/consultant role.
• Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
• Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
