Overview

Join our multidisciplinary Transportation Engineering team as a Principal Rail System Safety Engineer in the UK. Focus on rail projects within the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team.

Responsibilities

  • Development of System Engineering and Assurance plans and processes
  • Support safety and assurance management for projects (e.g. CSM-REA, EN50126)
  • Develop and manage project safety processes — development of System Safety Plan, System Definition, management of Hazard Records, and collaboration with the wider project team to capture and manage Hazards
  • Stakeholder management — engage and support clients with authorisation bodies and independent assessments
  • Prepare and develop safety requirements/specifications
  • Support the development of Engineering Safety Cases / Safety Justification
  • Develop Project Authorisation Strategies and support projects with the delivery of the applicable Rail Interoperability Regulations
  • Develop scope of works and work packages with clients
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary reviews of project deliverables
  • Contribute to engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements and expectations
  • Serve as the systems safety resource for the Principal and Associate on projects

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Railway systems and assurance experience including system safety and interoperability
  • Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
