Are you a highly experienced and driven road safety professional ready to take the next step in your career?  Our client is looking for a Principal Road Safety Engineer to join the dynamic Road Safety team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving road safety across the county, shaping policy, leading key projects, and working in collaboration with internal and external partners.

As Principal Engineer, you’ll help deliver our Road Safety Policy and Safe Systems approach while ensuring we meet our statutory obligations. Your work will directly influence casualty reduction, community initiatives, and the future of safer travel in Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead on the delivery of road safety projects and initiatives in line with local and national policies. Oversee collision data analysis to develop evidence-based interventions and feasibility studies. Collaborate with the Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) and Engineering teams to align strategies and schemes. Provide specialist advice and respond to enquiries from stakeholders, elected members, and the public.
