Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument Designer to work on a PAYE/Fixed Term Staff contract, to support TAQA Bratani assets, providing technical design expertise & drawings to primarily Electrical & Instrument disciplines.\n

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares engineering drawings in their discipline area from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
Create designs and sketch out detailed plans for Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines, with some potential to support Process for P&ID drafting.
Plans and carries out technical assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Capable of handling assignments which involve a variety of procedures and techniques.
Prepares drawings and diagrams, using computer-aided drafting (CAD) and/or computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) software.
Selects bulk materials appropriate to the design application with an understanding of compatibility, corrosion types and suitability for process & environmental conditions.
Carries out offshore site surveys and produces survey scopes of work and survey reports.
Provide technical design expertise for modifications & decommissioning projects, ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process.
Conduct site surveys on offshore assets.
Able to produce simple calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews.
Production of discipline documentation deliverables for in work packs.
Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards.
Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.

Requisitions for Bulk Bill of Materials
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
HNC or equivalent.
Current Offshore Medical, Survival Certificate and MIST.
Highly proficient in AutoCAD 2024 and Microstation 2024 CAD software.

HND
CompEx certification.
Experience of:
Maximo 7.6 - Asset Management Software (Materials Management / Electronic Requisitions).
Orbit 3.7 - Completions Management System (Electronic Workpacks).
Projectwise 24.0 - Document Management Software (Document Control).
Experience / Knowlege / Skills:
Essential:
Significant experience within specialist engineering discipline with a high level of knowledge of UK offshore operations and infrastructure.
Sound knowledge of engineering practices, codes and standards.
Flexible / pragmatic approach to support assets in ultra late life and decommissioning phases.
Dedication to design discipline / maintaining quality drawing output.

Good knowledge of other discipline functions / drawings e.g. Safety and Process.
Additional Skills / Requirements:
Proactively shares best practices and knowledge.
Proven ability to plan and manage resources to deliver results.
Computer literate with high level of competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages, e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint as well as discipline related software.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to develop highly effective working relationships.
Willingness to travel offshore.
