We're seeking a Principal Software Engineer to tackle some of our most complex technical challenges in smart home technology. You'll architect sophisticated software solutions that enable 4K video processing and advanced AI features on resource-constrained devices, while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in power efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to innovate in memory bandwidth optimization, CPU utilization, and power state management, creating scalable frameworks that enhance performance across our entire product line. Your expertise will be crucial in developing automated systems that validate and optimize our devices' performance, ensuring millions of customers receive the best possible experience from our smart home products.
Key job responsibilities
Design and implement software architectures that optimize system-wide performance
Develop intelligent power management solutions through software innovation
Create frameworks for efficient execution of AI models on edge devices
Build and maintain SDK-level optimizations for processor and memory utilization
Lead implementation of power states and thermal management software
Develop technical roadmaps for software performance improvements
Collaborate with silicon vendors on software integration and optimization
About the team
The team is headquartered in Cambridge UK with a global out reach.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
- Embedded development experience across all layers of an embedded product and strong C++ and system / software architecture skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
