We are seeking a full-time Principal Structural Engineer with strong design background to support our structural engineering team in Bristol. The team undertakes a wide variety of projects for the private and public sector, across a range of development sectors. We seek to provide integrated solutions incorporating state of the art design. We require an experienced individual of high calibre to assist in the design and management of structural engineering works associated with a wide variety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.ResponsibilitiesStrengthen our design and delivery capacity through involvement in a broad range of projects.Take responsibility for design and the design process from concept to delivery, and manage small teams to meet client requirements.Lead technical aspects, including preparing designs, specifications, technical approval submissions, and site supervision.Work collaboratively with senior management on research projects and innovative initiatives where applicable.Act as the client’s main point of contact for assigned projects, which may include significant estate portfolios or smaller individual projects, typically comprising a mix of new-build and refurbishment.Operate across sectors such as healthcare, education, defence & security, commercial, science & technology, and others.Mentor and support team members, demonstrate flexibility, and contribute to a positive health and safety culture within design and in the workplace.QualificationsBe a chartered civil or structural engineer (CEng and either MICE or MIStructE).Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently, a collaborative approach, and a proven ability to deliver work on time.Be confident working directly with clients, other design professionals, and contractors.Have extensive experience and a sound knowledge of structural engineering projects demonstrated through drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.Have technical knowledge including use of industry-standard software (ideally Tekla/Robot) and basic ability with Revit.Have experience in the commercial management of projects and change control.Be committed to promoting good health and safety practices within the workplace and in design.Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, and versatility as a team player.Be able to mentor, enthuse, and support team members.Desire to build upon existing experience and pursue ongoing professional development with Tetra Tech.Hold a full UK Driving Licence.Have the ability to obtain UK security clearance.About UsTetra Tech is a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide.
