What You'll Be Doing:

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of submarine construction. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting analysis and design of complex steel structures using Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards.
• Utilizing your knowledge of specific regulations and requirements, including LOLER, codes of compliance, and weld specifications.
• Interpreting and applying computer-based analytical techniques, including finite element analysis and CAD modeling (Abaqus, S-Frame).
• Supporting the manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation processes of submarine structures, modules, and components.
• Contributing to the production of concept drawings, layouts, and other technical outputs to meet contractual requirements, target dates, and budget demands.
• Overseeing approvals and checking analysis and outputs to ensure quality and compliance.

Your Skills and Experience:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• Engineering Degree (BEng/MEng) or equivalent experience.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or nearing CEng status.
• Expertise in structural steel analysis and design .
• Fully conversant with Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Competent in reviewing and checking design outputs.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, and knowledge of lifting handling and LOLER.
