Overview Principal Structural Engineer - Associate Designate | Permanent | Central London | £55,000 - £68,000 Are you looking for a relaxed and contemporary working environment, with an emphasis on quality not quantity? Our client is seeking an experienced structural engineer who wishes to step back from day-to-day design work and move into a more managerial, oversight role. Strong communication and a good sense of humour are important.
Responsibilities
Leading projects and a design team and acting as the main point of contact for all third parties Liaising with and providing direction to junior members of the design team Communicating with contractors and architects Liaising with clients and answering queries Attending site meetings Gradually taking on more responsibility while progressing into senior management
About the Team and Projects You will be joining a talented local team of 25 engineers and technicians and will work on projects ranging from bespoke housing, conservation projects and framed buildings to major city centre redevelopments. Schemes can be up to £50m in value and are of significant local importance. There are also heritage and conservation projects of a significant nature. Role and Progression They are seeking someone who is a natural technical lead, either already in a Principal role or ready to move up into one. All engineers are mentored by a Chartered Structural Engineer and are encouraged to work toward chartered status themselves. The business has contemporary offices in London and a varied portfolio of projects. Qualifications and Skills
A relevant degree in civil or structural engineering Experience with industry-standard software such as Fastrak, Tedds and Tekla Excellent communication skills Knowledge of the design process commercially astute problem solver capable of leading projects
