Join to apply for the Principal Substation Engineer role at Jacobs in the UK & Ireland Energy & Power team.

What you’ll do

• Progress in High Voltage Substation design to provide support to projects across Jacobs’ markets, including transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms and mission critical facilities.
• Work on site-based projects and with contractors, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver design solutions.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings. CAD (AutoCAD or MicroStation) is preferred but not essential.
• Support project delivery and client interactions, contributing to successful outcomes across Jacobs’ markets.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.
• Experience within an electrical discipline and delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects with tier 1 & 2 contractors.
• Relevant professional experience in HV and LV systems, 33kV – 400kV.
• Experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings.
