Principal Support Engineer – Technical Publications

Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

Job-Type: Permanent

Salary: £51,000 – £61,000

Security Clearance: Eligibility for UK SC Clearance

We’re looking for a skilled Principal Support Engineer – Technical Publications to lead the Astute Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) Production Team. This role is at the heart of managing, planning, and delivering technical publications to meet contractual requirements while ensuring efficiency, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and the wider Submarine Technical Publications community, liaising with MoD stakeholders to maintain the highest standards for all Astute IETP deliverables. This is an opportunity to be the focal point for technical publication strategy across major submarine programmes, including Vanguard, Dreadnought, and SSNA classes.

Key Skills & Expertise:

• Proven experience in Technical Publications or support roles within MoD programmes.
• Strong knowledge of IETP/IETM and ASD S1000D standards.
• Understanding of MoD Support Defence Standards, particularly Def Stan 00-60 / 00-600.
• Excellent communication skills to provide concise briefings and monthly reports to stakeholders.
• Degree in engineering or equivalent industry/forces experience.
• Experience with trilogi software suite (trilogiBuild, trilogiView, trilogiReview) advantageous.
• Submarine or surface ship platform knowledge desirable.
