Principal Systems Engineer Location: Basildon (3 days on site each week) Duration: 6 months Rate: £74.07 per hour Umbrella SC Clearance required HALO (Hostile Artillery Locating System) is a state-of-the-art long-range acoustic weapon locating system designed to meet the increasing threat of electronic warfare based targeting and anti-radar weapon systems countering radar-based weapon locating systems. Our client is recruiting for two Principal Systems Engineers to be part of a team supporting their next generation Hostile Artillery Locating System development. Joining during a crucial part of the engineering lifecycle you will lead end-to-end systems engineering efforts, from concept through to deployment. Collaborating across cross-functional teams to support integration and qualification of technical solutions. What you'll do as a Principal Systems Engineer: Contribute to requirements specification and management for complex, multi-faceted outputs. Participate in systems integration, verification, qualification & validation. Supporting junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the organisation. Ensure compliance with Mil Std's, Industry Std's and regulatory requirements. Supporting activities including design reviews and peer reviews. Development of the software security plan. Proven Ability / Key Skills Knowledge and proven ability of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle. Proven ability in requirements definition, verification, qualification & validation. Proven ability in system level testing. CE Marking compliance for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Proven ability using IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System). Awareness of Safety, Security and other legislative constraints. Defence industry background. Domain knowledge in an Electronics focussed role would be advantageous. Evidenced proven ability of developing training manuals for end users. Additional Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the project involved all applicants must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level.
