The Principal Systems Engineer will contribute to UK national security and defence by developing and delivering operational capabilities in the Cyber, Cryptography and Operational Technology domains.Day-to-day, you will work closely with customers as a Principal Systems Engineer, applying strong business analysis, consultancy, Systems Thinking and requirements engineering skills. You will engage with complex stakeholder sets, scope and elicit needs, engineer them into a structured model of requirements, and drive the development or acquisition of a solution.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeDeliver customer-focused consultancy and business analysis to support planning and management of acquisition, research or product development activitiesUnderstand and analyse stakeholder needs to elicit, capture and manage their requirements for a capabilityIdentify and report on and develop additional customer business opportunitiesTechnically lead the planning and management of acquisition, research or product development activityLead project teams as a solution develops to ensure ongoing compliance with requirementsAnalyse requirements and translate them into logical system requirements and constraintsEssential Experience Of The Principal Systems EngineerAbility to understand and analyse business needs (Operational User / Mission Needs)Ability to work with and support other Project/Systems Engineering and Subject Matter Experts to develop detailed designs and planningSolid Systems Engineering knowledge; MBSE experience desirableKnowledge of Cryptography (Crypt-Key), Vulnerability Research, Cyber Defence, or Cyber Exercising highly desirableEssential Qualifications For The Principal Systems EngineerDegree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or proven experience in an equivalent engineering roleIntention to join/membership of appropriate professional bodyWe value difference and do not have a fixed idea about background or education; if you have the required level of experience and willingness to learn, we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Malvern site.
