Novel Engineering Consultants is a dynamic company that provides Systems, Safety and Simulation engineering services to the engineering industry, including Aerospace, Civil and Defence markets.

We are recruiting a Principal Systems Engineer to support our team in Bristol.

Role Description

This is a full-time role based in our Bristol office with the flexibility for some working from home. The Principal Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the development, verification, and validation of complex systems for our aerospace customers. They will also work independently to execute engineering services, will lead a small team of engineers where needed, and will liaise directly with our customers; confidence in communicating with different stakeholders is essential.

We are strong adopters of MBSE and Safety Engineering practices in accordance with ARP4754 and ARP4761; experience applying these methodologies is advantageous, but not essential.

Due to the nature of our work, applicants must have the ability to gain SC Clearance.

Requirements & Experience

  • 5+ years experience in aerospace
  • Systems in accordance with ARP 4754, including both sides of the V lifecycle
  • Experience concepting and designing systems up to CDR
  • Safety in accordance with ARP4761, including PSSA, FHA, FTA, CMA, IPFMEA
  • Development of safety critical systems, including one of the following: Electrical, Fuel, Landing Gear, Flight Systems
  • Certification to EASA, FAA, CAA or other civil
  • Certification to defence standards
  • Hazard identification and management, safety case reporting, bow tie analysis
  • Simulation (mathematical modelling, CFD, FEA)
  • Cyber Security Experience
  • AI experience

Terms
