The Opportunity

Tetra Tech RPS Energy (TTRPSE) is seeking a Principal Technical Process Safety Engineer to support a team delivering significant projects within the Technical Advisory group, encompassing the activities within Offshore Oil and Gas, pipelines, onshore terminals and gas storage.

Location for this role is flexible. Most of our team is based in Woking, we can also consider home working with travel for team meetings. We have flexible working opportunities, including part time roles, to ensure a balance of family and working life.

Our Technical Advisory team is made up of highly experienced, industry professionals with unparalleled knowledge in sub surface, reserve audits, Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), equity redetermination and upstream asset management. We are dedicated to advancing energy solutions and ensuring the responsible use of resources.

Your Role

• Apply technical and business skills to deliver complete, high quality end products & recommendations with client satisfaction achieved
• Review and support the demonstration of legislative compliance on operating assets in hazardous industries, in particular offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities.
• Review and report to clients on quality of risk assessments within FEED and EPC projects.
• Be up to date with applicable British, EU and International standards and best practices for process safety engineering.
• Interface with other disciplines within a project environment and be responsible for the technical safety work scopes.
• Responsible for technical safety scopes within Asset Integrity and ESG Due Diligence Projects
• Take part in audits and site visits
• Travel to UK and worldwide locations to meet project requirements, approx. 5/6 times per year.
• Grow TTRPSE intellectual knowledge through client engagements and industry best practice.
• Coach junior colleagues on advanced technical aspects of work and in-depth sector knowledge.
  
  

• Engineering or Science Degree, ideally Process Engineering
  
  

• Engineering experience in the process industry (Oil & Gas &/or Chemical)
• Project planning and management
• Experience of undertaking safety evaluation and hazard analysis
• Experience of IVB processes and activities
• Knowledge of Hazardous Area Assessment to EI Part 15, BS EN 60079 part 10 & IGEM/SR/25.
• Ability to produce engineering documents to a high standard including proposals, terms of reference, HAZOP reports, LOPA reports, QRA studies and safety assessment reports
• COMAH Safety Report and Safety Case / RoMH development
• Barrier management and bowtie analysis
• Fire, explosion and toxic gas consequence and physical effects modelling
• Fire and gas mapping
• ALARP (as low as reasonably practicable) demonstration
• Ability to take part in audits, and present findings to senior management
• Advanced use of excel
  
  

• Marine planning, environmental assessment and consents
• Offshore site investigation and survey, including geological, geophysical and geotechnical survey planning, management and client representatives provision
• Offshore and Land Seismic survey operations including project management, and technical software and Seismic data processing. Supply of technical client representatives
• Operational and Wellsite geological services and drilling support
• Technical Advisory including sub surface, reserve audits and upstream assets
• Marine assurance and Quality Health Safety Security & Environment (QHSSE)
• Marine protected species observation
• Geoscience consulting including project management, geological desk studies, ground modelling, geohazard assessments
