Overview

Principal Waste Water Process Engineer at AtkinsRéalis. We specialise in process engineering for the water industry, including waste-water and bioresources treatment, with opportunities in other sectors. Located in the Manchester area with opportunities in our Manchester office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

What You Can Bring

  • Chartered Chemical / Process Engineer (preferably IChemE or CIWEM).
  • Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Fundamental understanding and experience of integrated waste-water and bioresources treatment process.
  • Design and/or operational experience of main process unit operations: primary / secondary / tertiary treatment, bioresource treatment and disposal, odour and energy management.
  • Experience of process safety techniques (HAZOP / DSEAR), capital and operational costs assessments, whole life carbon assessments as well as knowledge of UK environmental regulations.
  • Awareness of process modelling techniques and software, e.g. BioWin, SUMO.

Security Clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed at interview. Vetting is delivered by UK Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require five years of residency in the UK. Do not include details of any current or previous security clearance in your application.
