Our client, a global leader in advanced defence technologies, is seeking a Senior Principal Electronic/Electrical Engineer, part of the Electronic & Electrical function to help shape the future of naval systems. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll guide strategy, foster innovation, and ensure the delivery of cutting-edge electronic and electrical solutions for mission-critical platforms.
Define and lead the development of high-integrity, safety-critical Electronic and Electrical architectures for cutting-edge maritime systems.
Provide architectural oversight from concept through to qualification, ensuring compliance with performance, EMC/EMI, and environmental standards.
Chair design reviews (PDRs, CDRs), ensuring engineering artefacts meet stringent technical and regulatory requirements.
Engineering Leadership
Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a diverse, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
Support resource planning, recruitment, and capability development to align with strategic project needs.
Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, technical governance, and design standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior technical leaders to ensure successful project execution and capability integration.
Provide technical oversight and guidance across bids, proposals, and active projects.
Influence long-term engineering strategy and represent the client in customer and regulatory discussions.
Extensive hands-on design experience , including multi-layer board development, power management, and analogue/digital circuit design for regulated, high-reliability environments.
Proven knowledge of EMC, EMI, and safety standards with experience leading complex design and development projects.
Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on quality, delivery, and operational excellence.
