The Opportunity A leading engineering consultancy is seeking both Senior and Principal Mechanical Engineers to join a long-term nuclear infrastructure programme supporting the Royal Navy. Based in Glasgow, this role is part of a major joint venture delivering specialist technical services under the NTSP framework. We would also welcome applications from these industries Defence, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, and High-Security Government Infrastructure. This role would suit candidates working in these roles Senior Mechanical Engineer, Principal Mechanical Engineer, Building Services Engineer, HVAC Design Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineer, Nuclear Facilities Engineer, Fire Protection Engineer, Drainage Design Engineer, Technical Lead Engineer, Infrastructure Design Engineer. Your duties and responsibilities will be Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services including HVAC, water, drainage, and fire protection systems for nuclear facilities. Oversee technical documentation, calculations, schematics, and CAD/Revit modelling to ensure design integrity. Ensure compliance with UK building codes and nuclear-specific standards, including CIBSE, BS EN, and ASHRAE. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with structural, electrical, and safety engineering. Mentor junior engineers and support stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.You will have the following qualifications and experience Strong background in mechanical building services design, particularly HVAC and water systems. Experience producing flow calculations and technical documentation aligned with regulatory codes. Familiarity with nuclear safety cases and environmental control requirements.
