Principal/Senior or Experienced HV Plant Design Engineer (Substation Design)

Stantec is seeking a Principal/Senior HV Plant Engineer in the Energy team. This role involves working onHV substation design projects, supporting/leading FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects. Projects may include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connections schemes, and related components. Ideally you will have experience with key T&D clients in the UK.

About You

You will ideally have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer. You will have overall experience in design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems and associated power system components. Understanding of Protection & Control (P&C) aspects is preferable.

You will be a pro-active individual with knowledge and understanding of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You will have the capability to coach and work within the wider energy team. You will be engaged in the engineering community and understand how we can drive success for our clients, including understanding innovative solutions and industry best practices. You will contribute to the team through sharing knowledge, promoting ideas, and valuing the contributions of all team members.

With an expanding, and rapidly growing energy sector, we also welcome individuals from various technical backgrounds who may not meet the above criteria. Stantec will develop, provide support and training to the right people. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field is expected.

• Work as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects; support/lead FEED design and detailed design for refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines; support/lead FEED and detailed design efforts.
• Engage with clients, coach team members, and contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions addressing industry challenges.
