Senior/Principal Civil Engineer
Locations: Birmingham, (Hybrid working)
Salary: £45,000- £55,000

What You'll Do
- Lead civil engineering projects from feasibility through detailed design, ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery
- Produce and review technical documents—drawings, calculations, specifications, reports
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams, including engineers and technicians
- Manage project risks across health & safety, quality, programme, and cost dimensions
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and supply chain stakeholders
- Mentor junior staff, ensuring knowledge sharing and development
- Assist in business growth—contribute to bids, proposals, and identifying new project opportunities
- Champion best practice and innovation within civil engineering.
What We're Looking For
- Chartered Civil Engineer (ICE or equivalent) with substantial UK experience
- Proven track record leading medium to large-scale civil projects
- Strong technical foundation—roading, drainage, utilities, earthworks
- Experienced in managing teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercially minded—competent in fee proposals, resource planning, and budget control
- Self-motivated and collaborative—able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
