Senior Mechanical Design Engineer requred by my client an Internationally renowned technolgy group .Working with their RAS/FAS Value Stream team in Gateshead, UK. \n\nKey Responsibilities will Include :\n\nLeading the technical delivery of projects, overseeing a multi-disciplinary team\nDevelop Mechanical Engineering solutions that fulfil client requirements, progressing from requirements capture through concept design to product development, commissioning, and in-service support\nIdentify and develop R&D and Continuous Improvement opportunities\nInvestigate safety and technical problems using structured problem-solving techniques\nWork effectively within a multidisciplinary team\nProvide technical reference and guidance to equipment suppliers, internal departments, and customers; approve and witness factory tests and inspections at suppliers' works\nManage supplier interfaces and provide technical assistance and approval to suppliers\nCheck the technical work of others and provide technical guidance to colleagues in other departments as well as to suppliers and customers\nCreate technical design appraisal documents for submission to marine classification societies\nManage requirements, risks, assumptions, interfaces, and issues during all design phases\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nBEng in a Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience\nChartered Engineer or working towards Chartership with the IMECHE or other relevant institute\nEngineering experience relevant to this role\nExperience of working in a highly regulated industry\nPrevious experience with offshore oil and gas or the Maritime industry is \nProven track record in leading the technical delivery of projects to quality, cost, and schedule\nExperience spanning concept, product development, and in-service (ILS) support\nExperience with creation of equipment assembly arrangements and Engineering Bills of Materials using an ERP/MRP system\nAssessment of designs to ensure code compliance using hand calculations and Finite Elements Analysis (FEA)\nProduction of technical specifications, test procedures, and technical manuals for marine application mechanical systems and components\nExperience with 2D and 3D CAD systems such as AutoCAD and Creo\nCompetent user of MS Office suite of programmes\nConversant with BS EN 8888 and BS EN 22553 for the production of drawings\nAbility to work in a controlled documentation environment, be self-motivated, and positively contribute to a coherent team\nGood written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with formal external approval bodies such as marine classification societies and UK Ministry of Defence departmentsPlease get in touch with your CV stating rate expectation for further information on this superb opportunity
