Process Engineer

We at Jackie Kerr Recruitment are excited to be supporting a leading manufacturing company in recruiting a Process Engineer!

Process Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of the production process and equipment

Participate in the introduction of new parts including equipment, tools and procedures

Proactively identify opportunities to improve yield or manufacturing efficiency and to instigate and lead continuous improvement activities

Contribute to technical and gate reviews

Assist or lead internal audits where required

Respond to line stops, taking the required actions to restart production in a timely manner

Update and maintain manufacturing documentation, including operator instructions, inspection standards etc

Define new or replacement equipment requirements

Commissioning and validation of new equipment

Define and validate new material because of obsolescence, an improvement activity and new product

Assist in 8D investigations for either external or internal nonconformity

Process Engineer Ideal Candidate:

Strong interest in mechanical, electronics or production engineering

Understanding of Lean principles and how to apply them

Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels

Demonstrated organisational, planning and program skills with careful attention to detail

Work well within a team

Have a strong technical bias, with strong problem-solving abilities

Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines

A good level of competence with Microsoft Office applications

Degree / HNC in an engineering discipline OR equivalent experience

Experience or understanding manufacturing resistors, print / fire / deposition / plating (Desirable)

CAD experience / knowledge (Desirable)

Knowledge of Python (Desirable)

Working Hours and Benefits:

Monday – Thursday: 08:00am – 16:30pm

Friday: 08:00am – 13:00pm

25 days annual leave
