Location: Barnstaple

Hours: Mon-Thurs, 08:00 - 16:30, Fri 08:00 - 14:00

Salary: £42,000 - £52,500

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimisation of manufacturing processes, with a focus on automation and robotics.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
  • Support the rollout of new robotic systems (e.g. FANUC, ABB) and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to deliver process solutions that scale with business growth.
  • Provide clear documentation and tooling support for the shop floor.

Skills required:

  • Proven experience in manufacturing process engineering, ideally within an industrial or high-tech production environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machinery, shop floor operations, and process automation.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with robotic systems (FANUC, ABB, or similar) - training provided if needed.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement, with practical experience in Lean tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence both shop floor and senior stakeholders.
