Our client is a respected leader in bespoke manufacturing for the construction industry, seeking a talented Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in designing innovative solutions from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of their engineering team, you will be responsible for turning client concepts into manufacturable, high-quality reality. Your key responsibilities will include:
Concept & Detail Design: Using SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD software) to create detailed models, drawings, and specifications for new and existing products, including bespoke fabrications and extrusion-based profiles. Project Management: Taking ownership of projects from initial client brief and technical enquiry through to design approval and production handover. Technical Collaboration: Working closely with our sales, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture, cost-effective, and meet all functional requirements. Innovation & Development: Contributing to the development of new products and improving existing designs to enhance performance and efficiency. Client Interaction: Liaising directly with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and present design solutions. About You

Essential Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks,). Sheet metal experience is essential A strong understanding of design for manufacture (DFM) principles, particularly in metal fabrication and/or plastics extrusion. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and clients. A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Design Engineering) or equivalent proven experience.
