Product Design Engineer – Chepstow Area

Haystack Selection is working with a forward-thinking engineering business that’s growing its design team. They are now seeking a Product Design Engineer to take on a varied, hands-on role where you’ll not only create designs but also see them come to life on the production floor. If you’re the type of engineer who enjoys being in the thick of it — handling products, solving real-world problems, and ensuring quality — this could be the opportunity for you.

The Role

This isn’t a position where you’ll just sit at a desk. As Product Design Engineer, you’ll be involved in every stage of the process — from concept and design through to manufacturing and validation. You’ll spend time in production, seeing how your designs are built, handling prototypes, and working with colleagues to resolve any issues or quality concerns. It’s an exciting role for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys taking ownership of the full design journey.

Responsibilities

* Develop innovative and reliable product designs that are cost-effective and compliant.

* Create bespoke solutions to meet specific customer requirements.

* Produce CAD models, technical drawings, and supporting documentation.

* Use calculations and FEA to validate structural performance.

* Work closely with production to see designs through to manufacture.
