The role will require travel up to 70% of the time.

Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in fault-finding activities, technical investigations, reviews and improvement projects on complex Optronics products
- Investigate and address obsolescence, reliability and supportability issues arising within the product
- Engage with the customer and a multi-disciplinary team across the projects to develop and implement an optimum solution to any technical issues that the customer may experience
- Represent the company in technical interactions with external organisations
- Develop an understanding of the domain in which the product will be used
- Documenting findings, results and report writing
- Customer training
About you
- We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual qualified in Electronics or a relevant STEM subject to either Degree level or HND with industry experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure, individually and as part of the larger support and engineering teams
- Experience in the use of standard test equipment
Location
The position will be based at the Thales site in Glasgow with extensive travel to customer’s sites. The expectation is that 50% of time will be spent offsite with the remainder in Glasgow supporting our industry colleagues.
Security clearance
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
