Their products serve both recreational and commercial marine markets, offering cutting-edge solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and user experience at sea.
As they continue to grow, my client is seeking a talented and hands-on Production Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the transition from design to manufacture, supporting production processes, continuous improvement, and high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to ensure smooth transfer of new products into production
Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, and test methods for electronic and embedded systems
Support and troubleshoot production line issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation including work instructions, BOMs, process flows, and test reports
Monitor production performance and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Work closely with procurement and logistics to ensure availability of components and manage supply chain issues
Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality standards, including compliance with ISO and other relevant standards
Provide hands-on technical support to production staff and act as a bridge between engineering and manufacturing
Ensure Health & Safety best practices are followed in all production activities Requirements Essential:
Degree or HND in Production Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
Previous experience in a production engineering role, ideally within electronics or embedded systems manufacturing
Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT, PCB assembly, testing, and fault-finding
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documents
Proficiency in tools such as CAD (e.g., SolidWorks or Altium), ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office
Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Desirable:
Experience working in a regulated industry such as marine, automotive, aerospace, or defence
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware testing would be an advantage What We Offer
