The successful Production Engineer will be responsible for:
Designing tooling, fixtures, and stage drawings to support repeatable and efficient production.
Creating clear SOPs, training materials, and operating procedures for shopfloor use.
Generating 3D and 2D engineering documentation and Bills of Materials using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Supporting new product introduction by planning manufacturing methods and ensuring smooth handover from design to production.
Delivering technical training to upskill operators and embed best practices on the shopfloor.
Driving continuous improvement projects using lean methodologies to reduce waste and boost output.
Liaising with internal teams (engineering, production, logistics, and project management) to support smooth production flow.
Supporting cost estimates, production planning, and future capacity forecasting.
Offering engineering input into designs, ensuring components are manufacturable, safe, and efficient to assemble.
To be considered for this Production Engineer role, you’ll need:
A degree or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering (or similar).
At least 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing or engineering setting.
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, welding, anodising, NDT, and assembly methods.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, etc.).
Excellent communication skills and confidence working across departments and with suppliers.
A methodical approach to documentation and BOM creation, with a good eye for detail.
A safety-first mindset and familiarity with ISO 9001 and QHSE procedures.
Desirable: Experience with structural analysis, hydraulics, or mechanisms is a bonus, as is the ability to consider costings, profitability, and commercial impact in engineering decisions.
