Overview: Working alongside our client, a manufacturer of plastic and rubber caps, we are looking for a Production Support Engineer to join their team.

Remit:

* A key member of the production team, the Production Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager in achievement of all operational targets.

* You will be responsible for maintaining all plant and equipment in a safe condition, including preventive maintenance of the plant and building, alongside providing new tooling through manufacture of procurement and assisting with securing accurate quotations for materials, plant and equipment.

* This is a varied and fast paced position allowing the successful candidate to be involved in a range of production operations.

Role:

* Ensure all equipment and machinery is in safe working condition

* Produce custom tooling to order and within agreed timescale

* Reacting to breakdowns/failures

* Development of TPM system

* Continual maintenance of plant and equipment

* Maintenance of building

* Involvement in IMS focused improvement culture

* Effective performance management and development of direct reports.

* Training development of Engineering apprentice.

* Working as part of the Engineering and Production team to achieve corporate objectives

* Maintaining cost effective relationships with suppliers

* Maintain customer satisfaction through prompt and effective response to customer requests

Experience Requirements:

* Experience of working within a manufacturing or production environment

* Qualified within an engineering discipline with the ability to operate engineering machinery safely (lathes, milling, welding, fabrication, hydraulics & pneumatics)

* Experience with continuous improvement

* Demonstrated ability to achieve targets under pressure and within changing environment

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Abrasive wheels certification

* Ability to work using own initiative
