Professional Services Engineer – IT Infrastructure 6 month fixed term contract. Hybrid working and clients sites VMware / Hyper-V Server and SAN , Microsoft 365 administration, Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, GPOs) Location: South East England (with travel across the UK)
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits Our client is a leading organisation in the technology sector, delivering innovative IT solutions They are looking for a Professional Services Engineer to join their Implementation & Consultancy Services team — a group dedicated to delivering end-to-end technical solutions for customers. This is a customer-facing role, involving both on-site and remote delivery across the UK. The Role You’ll be responsible for implementing technical solutions, ensuring smooth delivery from project initiation through to service transition. Acting as the technical lead during installations, you’ll work closely with project teams, architects, and service transition colleagues to ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Deliver end-to-end installation and implementation services (on-site and remotely). Ensure all technical deliverables are completed to specification and on time. Collaborate with Project Management, Architecture, and Service Transition teams. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and ensure knowledge sharing. Provide customer reassurance and technical expertise throughout project delivery. Identify opportunities for process or service improvements. Support peers and contribute to technical best practices across the team.
About You You’ll be a hands-on technical professional who enjoys problem-solving and working directly with customers. You’ll have experience delivering technical implementations, ideally within an IT or educational technology environment. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience providing installation or implementation services in customer environments. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Confident working independently on technical projects with minimal supervision. Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing experience. Technical Expertise in Some or All of the Following: Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V Failover Clustering) Server and SAN storage technologies Microsoft Intune (MDM & MAM) and Endpoint Management Microsoft 365 administration Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, GPOs) Networking (wired and wireless) including HP Aruba Central Router installation and troubleshooting Backup and antivirus solutions
Additional Requirements: Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to customer sites (primarily in the South East).
