Echelon Engineers are working with an established manufacturing company to recruit a skilled Project Engineer. Our client designs and manufactures bespoke industrial equipment and automated systems for various sectors.
The Role:
We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical projects from initial concept through to final commissioning. You will be responsible for creating innovative system layouts, producing detailed engineering drawings, and managing the complete project lifecycle while working closely with sales teams and customers.
The successful candidate will develop general arrangement drawings in both 3D and 2D formats, integrate various equipment components to create optimised layouts, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support proposal development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and detail manufacturing drawings using CAD software
* Manage project timelines and coordinate with internal teams
* Create and maintain bills of materials within company systems
* Provide technical support during installation and testing phases
* Conduct site visits for measurements and customer liaison
* Support cost analysis and proposal preparation
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Essential Requirements:
* Degree or HNC in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
* Proven Project Engineer experience in manufacturing environment
* Strong expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
* Experience with sheet metal and fabricated product design
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and project management
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems
Desirable:
* Experience with automated machinery or material handling systems
* Basic electrical engineering knowledge
* Understanding of industrial regulations and standards
