We work on a wide variety of projects and our breadth provides opportunities to form and lead project teams that tackle the Navy's most pressing problems and priorities. We are developing uncrewed systems (unmanned underwater vehicles, surface craft, launch and recovery systems), marine systems submarine/shipboard equipment, and ocean sensing systems (including sensors and signal processing).Position SummaryTriton is developing exciting new products for the subsea and ocean environment. We are seeking a Project Engineer interested in hands-on engineering to lead one or more of our innovative development teams. Triton's diverse set of projects will give you experience across the ocean engineering spectrum and allow you to shine in a fast-paced environment. Triton is developing subsea systems, submarine systems, unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), sonobuoy, towed array, and offshore renewable energy.ResponsibilitiesLead a project team and provide technical direction to R&D efforts. Bring concepts from idea to prototype and take them to the field. Serve both as an individual contributor and project lead.Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationshipsDevelop technology development roadmaps and transition plans for projectsRecognize and creatively solve complex problemsIdentify and manage project schedules and risksDesign, build, and test mechanical systems for the ocean environment. Integrate electrical and software systems.Hands on assembly and repair of machines and prototypesRapidly develop high-quality CAD in SolidWorks for fabrication and manufacturing from concept-level sketches and CADPerform experiments in an independent & inventive mannerDevelop and communicate (in written form and orally) a compelling narrative for technical project progress or proposed work.Desired QualificationsDepartment of Defense and/or US Navy R&D engineering or project leadership experienceExperience with subsea industry, missions, and related technologiesExperience building and fielding ocean technologiesExperience designing systems for submarines, or other subsea applicationsExperience with marine robotic systems design and prototypingExperience with structural engineering and analysisExperience conducting in-water or at-sea testingCompetency using CAD and basic machine shop equipmentExperience with COMSOL, MATLAB, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, Altium, etc.Experience in Failure Mode and Effects AnalysisExperience writing technical proposalsEducation/ExperienceB.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Ocean Engineering or related engineering field required.
