Job Title: Project Engineer - Sprinklers

As a Sprinkler Project Engineer you will support the Project Manager within the Main Contracts or Small Works divisions to deliver fire sprinkler projects on time, to budget and in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements. You will gain experience working on a variety of projects including commercial offices, warehouses, distribution centres, retail, life sciences, pharmaceutical facilities, data centres and airports.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project initiation and handover meetings with stakeholders including Sales, Design, and QS.
  • Produce and maintain the project programme.
  • Communicate with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain central project file records.
  • Attend internal project Cost To Complete (CTC) meetings.
  • Complete and submit end-of-project documentation (e.g., O&M, As-Fitted Drawings, Certification).
  • Ensure installers are briefed, competent, and qualified to fulfil project requirements.
  • Raise Purchase Order Requests using authorised Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Support and manage on-site resources to resolve issues and maintain the programme.
  • Familiar with and compliant to company and regulatory processes.
  • Complete and submit project Quality Plans (as required).
  • Participate in internal and third-party audits.
  • Identify, record, and resolve supplier-generated non-conformities.
  • Consult with subject matter experts as required.
  • Manage material and labour costs.
  • Identify and invoice variations to contract; raise final accounts.
  • Undertake and record on-site inspections in accordance with EHS001 scheduled frequency.
  • Facilitate on-site toolbox talks and ensure understanding and adherence to Company H&S rules.
  • Complete all H&S documentation, including RAMs and attendance sheets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings.
  • Experience managing small to large budget projects (£5k to £2m) in the construction industry.
  • Experience in management or supervision of on-site labour and resources.
  • Current and relevant SMSTS and CSCS Card holder.
  • Knowledge of CDM Management Principles.
  • Relevant NVQ/NHD/HNC/City & Guilds within Building Services or Mechanical discipline.
  • Knowledge of production of project documentation (RAMs, Quality Plans, Project Plans, Cost Sheets/CTC, trackers).
  • Familiarity with standard MS Office applications.
