As a Project Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background, you'll support the delivery of mechanical and piping engineering projects from FEED to detailed design, working closely with project managers and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and engineering of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping, and ductwork using tools like AutoCAD, CadWORX 3D, Caesar II, PV Elite, etc. Prepare and manage engineering packages and documentation, such as P&IDs, design basis memoranda, 3D models, and vendor drawings. Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams—possibly supervising from procurement to commissioning phases. Participate in tank inspection, rehabilitation scopes, and tank farm upgrade projects. Support project management duties, including scheduling, cost monitoring, regulatory compliance (e.g., API, EEMUA), and liaising with clients and subcontractors. Contribute to on-site supervision during construction or rehabilitation of storage tanks and associated infrastructure.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline). Experience or familiarity with mechanical and piping design in the process or petrochemical industries. Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, CadWORX 3D, Caesar II, PV Elite, MathCAD, etc. Basic understanding of standards and codes (e.g., API 653, EEMUA, ASME, PED). Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience. 1 - 3 years' of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager. Strong experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
Skills
Prior experience in design or inspection of storage tanks, pressure vessels, or tank farm structures. Familiarity with construction management, commissioning, and vendor inspection. Practical knowledge of 3D scanning & modeling, or site surveying. Understanding of disciplines beyond mechanical, such as civil/structural foundations, bunds, or pipe bridge design.
