Job Description

As a Project Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background, you'll support the delivery of mechanical and piping engineering projects from FEED to detailed design, working closely with project managers and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.


Responsibilities


  • Assist in the design and engineering of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping, and ductwork using tools like AutoCAD, CadWORX 3D, Caesar II, PV Elite, etc.
  • Prepare and manage engineering packages and documentation, such as P&IDs, design basis memoranda, 3D models, and vendor drawings.
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams—possibly supervising from procurement to commissioning phases.
  • Participate in tank inspection, rehabilitation scopes, and tank farm upgrade projects.
  • Support project management duties, including scheduling, cost monitoring, regulatory compliance (e.g., API, EEMUA), and liaising with clients and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to on-site supervision during construction or rehabilitation of storage tanks and associated infrastructure.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline).
  • Experience or familiarity with mechanical and piping design in the process or petrochemical industries.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, CadWORX 3D, Caesar II, PV Elite, MathCAD, etc.
  • Basic understanding of standards and codes (e.g., API 653, EEMUA, ASME, PED).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Required Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 3 years' of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager.
  • Strong experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.


Preferred Skills


  • Prior experience in design or inspection of storage tanks, pressure vessels, or tank farm structures.
  • Familiarity with construction management, commissioning, and vendor inspection.
  • Practical knowledge of 3D scanning & modeling, or site surveying.
  • Understanding of disciplines beyond mechanical, such as civil/structural foundations, bunds, or pipe bridge design.
