Project Engineer - Metalwork Fabrication & Construction.

Do you have a background in project engineering with expertise in construction metalwork and welding? Great opportunity to join this expanding and successful business supporting the project manager and senior team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts.

Main Duties:

Working onsite at Stansted Airport and in our local offices you will:

  • Oversee projects from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Formulate comprehensive project plans and strategies and coordinate efforts between internal teams and external contractors.
  • Use our systems and your knowledge to generate precise and competitive project quotes.
  • Assist with project management systems to track and communicate project progress.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Foster effective communication and address issues with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects while meeting client deadlines.
  • Order materials as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate contractors and your project team effectively.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal project managers.
  • Develop strong relationships with client project managers.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in construction metalwork and welding within an engineering or construction context.
  • Strong project management capabilities, familiar with relevant software and tools.
  • Skilled in preparing and analysing detailed project estimates.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • An engineering degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
