Surface Water Project Engineer & Senior Project Engineer\nLocation: Berkshire (Hybrid – 2 days office / 3 days remote)\nContract: 6 months\nIR35: Inside IR35\nHours: 37.5 per week\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking both a Project Engineer and a Senior Project Engineer to support the Surface Water Management Programme, delivering innovative sustainable drainage (SuDS) schemes across London and the Thames Valley.\nThese roles offer the opportunity to work on stakeholder-led projects with local authorities, NGOs, and community partners, ensuring schemes are successfully scoped, approved, and delivered through to completion.\nKey Responsibilities\n * \n Manage a portfolio of third-party drainage projects, from design reviews to construction completion.\n * \n Build and maintain strong relationships with project partners including councils and NGOs.\n * \n Monitor progress, update agreements, and escalate risks or opportunities.\n * \n Support the “Call for Projects” process, assessing new opportunities against programme objectives.\n * \n Prepare clear reports and presentations to communicate programme outcomes.\n * \n Manage financial administration, including invoice approvals and milestone tracking.\nRequirements\nProject Engineer\n * \n Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in the water industry.\n * \n Chartered or working towards accreditation (ICE, CIWEM or equivalent).\n * \n Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.\n * \n Effective communicator, confident working with stakeholders.\n * \n Knowledge of sustainable drainage; civil engineering design experience with a water company or local authority is desirable.\nSenior Project Engineer\n * \n Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in the water or civil engineering sector.\n * \n Chartered (ICE, CIWEM) or working towards accreditation.\n * \n Strong technical understanding of sustainable drainage solutions.\n * \n Proven ability to manage multiple projects and diverse stakeholders.\n * \n Excellent organisational and communication skills.\nWhy Apply?\n * \n Hybrid working in Berkshire (2 days office, 3 days remote).\n * \n 6-month contract, inside IR35.\n * \n Be part of a high-profile programme shaping sustainable water management across the region
