Protection and Control (P&C) Commissioning Engineer, Leeds
Join us in building a carbon-free future. We are seeking a Protection and Control (P&C) commissioning engineer to join our Power Networks team within our Net Zero Energy Business. This position can be home-based or based from our UK offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Epsom, or Leeds, with site visits across the UK expected.
The UK energy market is undergoing significant change as the country aims for a net zero carbon target. The sector is adapting to high penetration of modern generation, transmission, and distribution technologies, energy storage, and increased demand from electrification of transport and heating. Networks play a crucial role in connecting renewable energy, with transmission network operators securing approximately £8bn as part of the RIIO T2 package.

Your purpose:
- Oversee installation and commissioning stages of projects, resolving technical issues at sites within our Power Networks team.
- Enjoy troubleshooting and demonstrate a can-do attitude to problem-solving.
Examples of work involved:
- Commissioning protection and control aspects of projects.
- Coordinating with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Attending site visits, FAT, and SAT as needed.
Qualifications and skills:
- HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in commissioning P&C of substations in the UK (NG and/or SSE).
- BP141 or equivalent authorization or ability to obtain it.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
- Right to work in the UK.
