Purpose: Join us in shaping the future of renewable energy. As a Senior Protection & Control Engineer, you will lead the design and integration of advanced Protection, Control and Metering systems for large-scale Offshore wind farms, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with international and industry standards. Your work will directly contribute to delivering clean energy to millions of homes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Protection, Control and Metering (PCM) systems are designed and delivered in accordance with regulations, industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage and technically lead PCM systems from tendering through all execution processes.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers on terms and specifications to secure best value and minimise costs/risks.
  • Ensure designs developed by Contractors are consistent, technically safe, and coordinated with the overall windfarm design.
  • Manage interfaces with Contractors, Consultants and internal teams; provide professional advice on engineering technical aspects and risk levels.
  • Justify technical decisions, ensure all assessments, recommendations and decisions are fully documented with due technical and commercial due diligence.
  • Lead and coordinate Project Engineers, Consultants and Contractors to deliver project packages; ensure adequate testing and witness inspections and FAT at Contractor facilities.
  • Support commissioning activities for key engineering design items to ensure assets are effectively commissioned for transfer into O&M; ensure Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are considered in design.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in Protection, Control and Metering system design and specification (protection philosophy, control architecture, I/O lists); proven track record in managing PCM contracts including cost, risk and stakeholder coordination.
  • Degree level education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas when required.
