PSA Engineer (ADMS S6) - 6 months initially - Inside IR35 - Hybrid in Edinburgh

Hamilton Barnes are seeking an experienced, hands-on PSA Engineer - ADMS S6 to join our client's team on an initial six-month contract with one of the UK's leading electric utilities. In this hybrid role (two days per week on site in Edinburgh), you'll own the full life cycle of an ADMS S6 implementation - partnering with Utilities, ISOs and TSOs to capture requirements, configure and commission network models, develop custom integrations, execute testing and system tuning, and deliver comprehensive documentation and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• ADMS S6 Implementation & Configuration
  Lead end-to-end deployment of ADMS S6 modules, configuring network models, protection schemes, and fault-management workflows.
• Collaborate with Utilities, ISOs and TSOs to capture and translate distribution-network requirements into detailed software design for ADMS S6.
• Design, code and integrate custom extensions or interfaces (eg GIS, OMS, DER platforms) within the ADMS S6 environment.
• Author and execute unit, integration and performance tests, including automated test scripts, to ensure ADMS S6 stability under real-world loading and fault scenarios.

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Hands-on implementation and configuration of ADMS S6 suite.
• Deep understanding of distribution-network operations, EMS/SCADA fundamentals and DMS/TMS concepts.
• Skills in test-management tools and frameworks, plus writing automated test scripts for regression and performance testing.
• Familiarity with DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus TCP and other utility-grade communications standards.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months (View for Extension)
• Day Rate: Up to £500 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: Hybrid 2x a week in Edinburgh
• Start Date: ASAP
