JOB TITLE: Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810

LOCATION(S): Manchester or Bristol

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our locations noted above.

Our core technology focus is on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

We are particularly interested in deep hands-on development experience with Terraform, Bicep, or other relevant IaC language. Experience with database, data warehouse, data analytics solutions, ideally across the Google or Azure ecosystems, is also essential. Python scripting experience and fluency with CICD, DevOps, Git-based workflows also necessary.

Your role as an Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and securing infrastructure resources that host colleague and customer facing services. This will be on our Public Cloud Infrastructure.

The Technologies may include compute, containers, data, operating systems, security and networking, predominately spanning virtual, and cloud computing such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

You will work collaboratively with the Engineering & Product Owner Leads, in building, and executing our road maps, whilst participating in the planning, and delivery of our goals, driving prioritisation, escalate impediments, acting on learnings and demonstrate successes. You will be encouraged to participate in technical communities both internally and externally to advance shared capabilities and to be a role model and mentor early career engineers to advance their technical skills.

What you’ll need

  • Experience with configuring and deploying a broad range of storage, analytics and AI capabilities on either Google Platform or Azure.
  • Understanding of data architecture including data ingestion, persistence, streaming and consumption patterns
  • Exposure to Machine Learning, Data Science and AI use cases and tooling
