Quality Assurance Engineer II, Partner Engineering – Amazon Prime Video is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II (QAE) to join the Prime Video Partner Engineering team and work with the A-list of home entertainment manufacturers to bring Prime Video to the latest and greatest home entertainment devices. If you like working with the latest entertainment hardware, enjoy getting hands-on in resolving complex technical problems and have a patient, methodical approach to work activities, this is the place to be.

The QAE will join a team that has already launched the Prime Video application on a wide range of living room devices from Samsung, LG and Sony amongst others. The role will involve assisting our partners on testing Prime Video client applications on living room devices such as Smart TVs and Set Top Boxes. The QAE will work to certify a high-performance Prime Video experience to customers on a growing range of new devices, and will test strategic design and testing cases to ensure consistently high customer experience on shipping devices. They will be expected to innovate, automate and troubleshoot all aspects of Prime Video verification on these supported devices. The learnings and verification insights gathered while certifying the Prime Video application on partner devices will be directly fed to the engineering teams working on maintaining the core features. You will also have the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas and see your contributions benefit millions of Amazon customers worldwide.

A successful candidate will have an established background in device certification experiences, strong communication and organizational skills, analytical reasoning, a motivation to achieve results in an environment eager to learn, and a passion for TV and film. The role is based in London and will provide opportunities to travel to partner sites in Europe, Asia and America.

Responsibilities

• Assist partners in testing Prime Video client applications on living room devices (Smart TVs, Set Top Boxes).
• Certify a high-performance Prime Video experience across a growing range of devices.
• Create and execute testing strategies and test cases; develop automation tooling to reduce manual testing.
• Share verification learnings with engineering teams to improve core features.
• Explore ideas to improve verification systems and contribute to automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science or closely related Engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of testing strategy design and test cases creation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Persistence and determination to root-cause and resolve complex issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded systems certification.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience developing software in at least one of JavaScript, Python, Java.
• Knowledge of automation software test frameworks, such as JUnit or Selenium.
• OS fundamentals.
